About Me

My path into tech wasn’t traditional — but it’s been mission-driven every step of the way.

I served in Iraq with the U.S. Army and spent nearly two decades protecting NYC as an NYPD Sergeant. Those high-pressure roles instilled the discipline, adaptability, and leadership I now bring to the world of DevOps and cloud infrastructure.

After retiring from law enforcement in 2024, I pivoted to tech with a focus on automation, security, and systems engineering. I’m currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Security Technology at Farmingdale State College (GPA: 3.95) and hold both the CompTIA Security+ and Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) certifications.

To put theory into practice, I’ve built a full-stack self-hosted homelab from the ground up. Recent projects include:

  • A secure reverse proxy with Docker, Traefik, and Cloudflare
  • SSH intrusion detection with UFW, Fail2Ban, and GeoIP
  • Real-time monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and Netdata
  • Automated VM provisioning via Ansible
  • CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Live site hosted on AWS: haelectricinc.com — Dockerized, served with NGINX, secured with Let’s Encrypt, proxied through Cloudflare

I’m passionate about building infrastructure that’s secure by default, automated end-to-end, and easy to monitor. Whether I’m deploying containers, hardening servers, or scripting solutions in Bash, I enjoy solving real problems — and learning every step of the way.

It’s never too late to reinvent yourself. Let’s connect and build systems that are resilient, scalable, and secure.
